Starting in March 2024, WEEKO Factory 2.0 is a 36-month Research & Development project co-financed by the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT) under the "Agreements for Innovation" incentive. The initiative was launched in the Abruzzo region, conceived by Donato Colleluori, founder of GRUPPO XERA. Key partners include Comec Innovative S.r.l. and Digitalsoft S.r.l., along with two research institutions: the University of L'Aquila and the Marche Polytechnic University.
Comec Innovative brings expertise in automation, while Digitalsoft focuses on digitalization. The University of L'Aquila supports the development of algorithms for recycling, reuse, and transformation of electronic components, while the Marche Polytechnic University applies artificial intelligence to all project processes, with a strong emphasis on environmental impact assessment.
The project will also involve vulnerable social groups, providing them with professional opportunities.
"WEEKO is a commitment, a responsibility for our present and future, but it is also a challenge to those who still do not see the urgent need for a radical shift in their way of operating, placing our planet and people at the center." – Donato Colleluori, CEO and Founder of Xera S.r.l.
